Given the complexity and aggressive schedule of building the new Yankee Stadium, the steel fabricator who provided the dugout and outfield fences, steel stairs, safety railings, gates, platforms and ornamental steel components for this iconic facility sought out Patrick Conlon for his expertise in designing the steel framing.
As a sports stadium, the project’s challenges were exacerbated by the fact the stadium needed to be ready for opening day no matter what. Despite the surprises that crept up around every corner with no let up in the schedule, Conlon had the know-how to meet the project’s challenges so that the new Yankee Stadium could wow the crowds on opening day. With the success of this highly visible project, Conlon went on to work with the steel fabricator on a smaller scale job in 2013 that enabled the Yankees to host regular soccer games, which has increased use of the facility.
